General
Advisable for patients around 30 with smaller scars and fine wrinkles especially in the upper lip area or around the mouth. This treatment is also recommendable for patients that suffer from impure skin, have acne or large pores. It will be determined whether a chemical peel or a dermabrasion is suitable for the individual skin-type.
Technique
Microdermabrasion is carried out with a high-revving polishing machine. The treatment occurs under local anaesthesia on an outpatient basis. Chemical peel ensues thorough cleansing of the skin. The fluid is applied uniformly with cotton-pads on the lines in the facial area and around the mouth. Afterwards scurf will build up after both treatments. With regard to chemical peel we distinguish between 3 increments. The superficial version uses glycol acid, the medium one with trichlor acid and the deep-peel with phenol substances. The chemical peel with the best effect and the lowest side effects is the trichlor acid peel (30-40%).
Aftercare
After the dermabrasion scurf builds up and should be treated with ointment daily. Approximately 10 days later new skin will have formed and make-up can be applied again. Insolation is to be avoided for 3 months due to possible pigment irritation. The same applies for chemical peel.
